Gaston Luga Praper White Backpack (Promo: MONICE15)

Remember my previous backpack review on Gaston Luga?

Gaston Luga kindly sent me a Praper White backpack this time round! With a minimalistic and simple design, this bag is versatile and matches most of my outfits. Apparently, it's also very matching to my pink and white room if I ever leave my bag lying around on the floor. (What a great excuse to be untidy.)

Just a recap in case you haven't read my previous review:

History of Gaston Luga

The story of Gaston Luga started off when the founder Carl Sundqvist met an interesting Frenchman with an elegant and casual style. Gaston told Carl he believed a backpack is the optimal companion when discovering the world. Since he was a person keen of his style, he had put time and effort into finding something different from the regular school style

The vision was to make a line with Scandinavian minimalism and elegance to suit all different occasions. As time went on, leather parts, thick quality cotton, metal details and a mix of carefully selected colors were put together and became the foundation of the new brand named after its predecessor, Gaston Luga.

Gaston Luga also ships to many other countries like UK, USA, Australia Hong Kong, Japan, and more! Just check it out on their website

I picked a casual pink and white outfit to stick to a duo colour theme for simplicity. Due to the neutral colour, this backpack would probably complement most outfits and even casual dresses.

While the bag is really versatile and lovely, I personally wouldn't use it as a travel backpack as I tend to be quite careless when I'm overseas. With a inner 13-15" laptop sleeve, the Praper White would be great for schooling if you are a student as the bag is really sturdy and spacious to keep heavy materials like your laptop/ books. On top of that, the strong hooks will keep your items secured. You surely wouldn't want your bag to be accidentally opened up while you're chasing for the bus.

Because of the white colour, I still have to be extra careful with how I place my bag outdoors.

This is what happens when you prioritise vanity over convenience. But with Gaston Luga, it's definitely worth it!

Gaston Luga bags are seriously too insta-worthy. It looks good against almost anything, just take a look and see.

My brother is a fan of Gaston Luga bags so I let him use it as well. Here's his review -

I fell in love when I first saw their PrĂ¥per line I mean just look at how beautiful they are! It’s really minimalistic and the color palette is amazing!

I really love the leather-canvas-metal mix of the backpack which gives it a soft, classy and slightly edgy vibes. There’s also a key ring for you to attach their leather address tag, or whatever key chain to make your bag more personal and unique! But I think the feature that makes Gaston Luga stand out is the hook which closes the bag.

Between the 3 categories - Classic, Praper and Classy, which do you like best? I really love the Classy one! After all, it is leaning towards the feminine style, which suits me better.

Don't forget to key in my PROMO CODE when you check out!

Customise Your Unique Terrarium with Be Crafty Sg (Hillion Mall)

Remember my previous giveaway on Monice Bakes? I hope the winners had a great experience customising their terrarium with Be Crafty at Hillion Mall (Bukit Panjang)! Thanks to Be Crafty, I also had the opportunity to decorate a unique set of terrarium for myself.

Stepping into Be Crafty shop makes an art lover like me feel so happy and thrilled! The idea of being able to custom made a gift for personal use or your loved ones is very popular nowadays. What amazed me is the variety of choices they offer - from the pots, glassware, plants to the detailed decorative toppers.

Feels like the kid in me is back as I looked through the shelves trying hard to make a decision on where should I even start.

They have many shapes and sizes for the base, some of the more unique designs include the animal range, as well as the prism terrarium with metal framing. (One of my absolute favourites!) I like how they have the lower range for someone who doesn't want to spend much, the base starts from $9.90 each, and the more premium designs costs about $29.90 and above. The succulents are about $3.5 each.

If your main focus is on the overall theme, I suggest moving on to the small figurines first. Picking the pebbles and plants last allows you to find something that complements your decor, and not the other way round.

My parents' anniversary was in November and I wanted to get this as a gift for them to be placed in the indoor garden.

I picked The Little Twin Stars as it's my mum's favourite cartoon character. She say that Kiki Lala represents my brother and I. There were a whole lot of other figurines that caught my attention as well, especially the Tsum tsum and Disney ones. Some of the generic animals are no doubt very adorable for those who don't fancy cartoon! The figurines range from 50c to $5.

I picked the white pebbles to keep things simple, but I later on realized that mixing of the pebbles and sand can create a really nice scenery too. I guess it depends on your preferences.

There is a crazy amount of combinations to mix and match, I feel that I will never be 100% satisfied to stick with just one. I really liked the Sakura tree but later realized that it doesn't really fit perfectly with my other designs, hence I replaced it with a small little bench for a homely feel.

And TADAH! What a lovely terrarium! I showed this to my family and they were happy with it too! It's now sitting in our living room.

This reminds me of my Sylvanian's Family House collection!

The little minions crowding in this terrarium are too cute! BELLO!!

For husbands and boyfriends who are looking for some last minute gifts, you can also consider their dried flower bouquets and preserved roses! The glass jar reminds me of the rose from Beauty in the Beast, such a pretty piece!

Specially crafted cards are available too!

Personally, I find it an affordable customised gift perfect for most people. Especially for close friends/ loved ones, this gift is really thoughtful and cute! I have actually purchased 2 terrariums for my friends! But instead of decorating it for them, I prepaid and asked them to go down to the shop personally to decorate their own piece.

If you're still looking around for Christmas ideas, do consider this!

Starting 2018 with Actspressions Planner

I find that getting myself a planner makes me more motivated to kickstart a new year, do you feel the same sentiments? I was really excited to come across Actspressions 2018 planner which was beautifully designed. Btw this isn't a sponsored post! But I really love it so much, good things must share right? And the price is really reasonable at $19.90. I actually thought it was a great steal, considering the fact that the design is super gorgeous.

I used to buy planners once in a while in the past, but the habit of writing down my schedule never lasts. Pretty sure this would though, because of my baking orders. The idea of getting a planner struck me when I realized that my current photocopied monthly calendar ran out of space for my orders (Very budget right!) It was crazy trying to squeeze all my schedule into that tiny little box.

The owner only creates 1 unique design every year and I consider myself lucky to get this ombre blue design! I actually went to take a look at the previous years and I didn't really fancy those as much.

It is a MUST to include weekly planners especially when I have more orders to record down nowadays. While the book isn't too big (13x16cm), this works fine for me as not a lot of space is wasted.

You might be able to tell that the paper is a little thin and see through. I haven't start writing anything yet so hopefully it doesn't affect much.

I wish the planner was a little bigger but this would be really handy to carry around with me in my small bag.

My dad was teasing me about not utilizing my macbook or phone's calendar which is more convenient and accessible. But for my case, I think a planner will be more efficient and useful!

I flipped through the planner and some of the quotes caught my attention!

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"

Love this!

(I noticed from their IG that they were sold out in mid December last year, so hurry!!)

Best Extraction Facial at My Cozy Room Boutique Spa

Known as the Best Extraction Facial in Singapore, My Cozy Room Boutique Spa has exceeded my expectations so far. Housed in a heritage terrace shophouse along Cairnhill Road, My Cozy Room is a short 5-minute walk from Paragon Shopping Centre. Girls will be in for a sweet surprise as the spa is fully styled with a champagne white and gold Victorian theme, making me feel like a princess the moment I stepped into the spa.

In case you are wondering, My Cozy Room also uses BABOR products which is an internationally-renowned German skincare label. At least I know that I can entrust my face with a professional brand!

When brands are raved to be the best, I am sometimes skeptical about the true authenticity. After giving it a try, I can understand why it is known to be one of the best - minimal redness, painless extraction and most importantly, my face recovered within a week with tremendous improvement in terms of complexion and glow. (My helper actually commented that my face was glowing! Mind you, I just woke up without applying anything on my face at all. And this was already 2 weeks after the facial)

Speaking about my facial complexion, it really fluctuates from time to time. I suspect that the weekly hotpot and heaty food intake caused my breakouts recently. Itchy fingers are also culprit to my congested pores and blackheads around the T zone area. When things go bad on your face, it's never easy to get rid of them without a proper extraction.

This is a photo of my face before the Facial. You can notice some of the bumps on my face.

Bad bad breakouts ):

The facial started off with a facial cleanser to remove my make up, followed by a relaxing scrub using lactic clay and fruit enzyme mask. Compared to the usual exfoliating scrub which has the "sandy bits", this is more gentle to my sensitive skin.

Many people find that it's a nightmare to go through extraction, I had bad experiences before where I had to grab onto the blanket during the process because it was so painful. Surprisingly, the extraction was relatively painless and tolerable, except for some discomfort at the areas having an infection. The therapist was extra gentle with her hands and she kept checking with me if the pressure is alright.

WARNING: Don't watch if you're not a fan of pimple popping videos! Actually this isn't overly gross though.

I was so glad to clear out the impurities and blackheads on my face as it has been bothering me for quite some time.

I also kept checking with the therapist if my face was red because this was one of my greatest concerns when I had to attend some lunch party during that weekend. Thankfully, there were minimal redness after the thorough extraction.

The great results were partially due to the high-frequency treatment which has a little tingling sensation on your skin, meant to kill bacteria.

The ampoule that was used on my face was made of Microsilver concentrate, containing pure silver and also the highest form of antiseptic. My face was so pampered thanks to the BABOR facial products!

I was also given the Clinical LED facial therapy that comes with flashing red and blue lights. The red light works like a laser to stimulate cells beneath my skin and fight off bacteria. On the other hand, the blue light reduces acne tremendously - which is also a huge reason why my pimples and blackheads subsided so quickly after the facial. I know these looks like partying lights but it's not what you think. My brother say that the goggles make me look like terminator though..

Overall, I had a really satisfying experience at My Cozy Room and I was really impressed at how fast the redness subsided after the treatment. Even after 2-3 weeks, the results lasted quite well. All I had to do was to refrain my itchy hands from touching my face. It felt really good to have a more radiant complexion for a good few weeks or more!

Finally able to get rid of these bad acne! Not sure what's wrong with my skin recently. Sigh. Thankfully, My Cozy Room came to my rescue.

Results of my facial treatment with My Cozy Room:

Prior to this, I have actually visited My Cozy Room about 2 years ago and I was already impressed with their service. I went for their first trial promotion for a spa treatment and I was actually a little concerned if there would be any hard-selling. Surprisingly, they were really sincere towards me and didn't push further when I told them that I wouldn't be interested in a package back then. This is something worth mentioning especially when hard-selling can be so common nowadays.

From my previous and recent experiences with My Cozy Room, I could tell that the therapists are really professional and passionate in what they do, which put me at ease as I don't usually accept collaborations with facial salons.

If you are keen to try out their Award-winning Customised facial treatment, you can enjoy their first-time promotion at $88 only! (90min; U.P $188) If you wish to go through a more intensive treatment, their Premium Pore Extraction Facial treatment is also available at a first-time promotion of $144 (120min; U.P $288) (T&Cs apply)
